Welcome to Fantastic Fifth Grade Fine Arts

WELCOME BACK! Oh it was so good to see students back on campus this morning! How I have missed those faces, even though I can only see part of their faces!
This year is going to be a challenge, but we are tigers! We can push through this and come through the other side even stronger. This is their last year at ACW and let's make it a great one!

We will begin Recorders next week, so all 5th graders that did not order a new one will need to remember to bring their recorder from home for their respective music class. 5th grade music schedule is as follows:
Monday: Tillema, Farrell
Tuesday: Hodges
Wednesday: Fox, Barnard
Friday: Lunceford
Students are given 2 "grace" days where it will not count against them. After these two days it will count twenty points off of their participation grade for the day. This goes along with our Pride creed of being prepared for class, and music is a participation class. How can you participate fully if you do not have your own materials? Thank you for understanding and helping our students become more responsible.

Veterans Day
This Thursday, November 8th at 8:30 all 5th grade students will be performing songs for local Veterans at our Veterans Day program. Please have your student wear red, white and blue, or any combination of any of those colors if possible. We are honoring those that have served our nation and we want to show this honor and respect in what we wear, what we say and what we do. Thank you!

We have begun learning our songs for our Veterans day program. We celebrate these heroes who have sacrificed so much so that we may enjoy the freedom of living in a country that allows us to be educated, worship or not worship as we choose, and speak freely without the worry of persecution. Thank you all who have sacrificed so much for us! We will be performing this on Thursday, Nov. 8th at ACW.

Hello there! Thanks for visiting. Please be on the lookout next week for a form to come home about recorders for 5th graders. If students have their recorder from last year, they will be set when it is time to play them again. If not, they will need to order a new recorder. Please return the form even if your child does not need a recorder so I can keep an accurate count. Thank you very much! It's going to be a great year!
This week we are reviewing reading rhythms including quarter note, eighth notes and a quarter rest. Quarter notes are read rhythmically as Ta, eighth notes as Ti, and a quarter rest is one beat of silence.
